A topper for a retractable badge reel: a picture in the colours of our filaments and, if you like, a name under it. The back has a pocket for the reel's sticky dot.

It prints flat, face up, without supports. It is glued on the reel: with a double-sided sticky dot, a hook-and-loop dot or superglue. The badge reel itself is not part of the print.
Badge reel topper with your picture and name
The tool turns a picture into a flat topper that is glued on the face of a retractable badge reel. Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, or pick a motif from the library; it is split into the colours of the filaments we have on the farm. Under the picture you can add a name of up to 16 characters. The width goes from 25 to 60 mm and the shape follows the outline of the picture, or you choose a circle or a rectangle.
The name is printed in one of the picture's own colours, the one that reads best on the plate, so it adds no filament and no change. The colours lie one on another and are printed by changing filament at given heights; our farm prints up to four colours in one print. The back has a shallow pocket for a sticky dot or a hook-and-loop dot, so the topper sits in the middle of the reel. The badge reel itself is not part of the print.
How it works
- Choose a picture. Upload your own picture or pick a motif from the library. The background is removed by itself and the list of colours shows which spools will be used.
- Add a name. A name of up to 16 characters appears under the picture. It is scaled so that it is no wider than the picture, with capitals of 7 mm at most.
- Set the size and the back. Change the width with the slider or by dragging the arrow in the preview. The pocket in the back is 10 to 30 mm across and 0.4 to 2 mm deep; it can be turned off.
- Order a print or download. Next to the preview you see the dimensions; the calculation after "Continue" shows the precise price. The model and the slicer project are free to download without an account.
What the tool can make
Common questions
How big should the topper be?
The face of a common badge reel is about 32 mm across. A topper 35 to 45 mm wide covers it and stays out of the way; over 50 mm it catches on clothes.
How do I fix the topper on the reel?
With a double-sided sticky dot, a hook-and-loop dot or superglue. Set the pocket in the back to the diameter of the dot you have; 19 mm is the default. Hook-and-loop lets you swap toppers.
What colour will the name be?
The one of the picture's colours that differs most in lightness from the plate. If you pick another spool for that colour in the list, the picture and the name change together.
Does it survive disinfectant and daily wear at work?
PLA takes wiping with water and with common surface disinfectant. Behind a car window in the sun it softens at about 55 °C; if you leave it there, choose PETG.
How many colours can the picture have?
Up to eight. Our farm prints at most four different colours in one print, the plate included; a design with more is yours to download as a project with filament changes for your own printer.
How do I pay and how do I get the topper?
You pay from prepaid credit that you top up by card; prices are shown in Czech crowns or in euros. We send the print through Packeta to a pick-up point or to an address in the EU.
