Pet figurine from a photo

A dog, a cat or another pet as a figurine to print. One photo of the whole animal is enough. You pick the style, the size and a base with the name, and you see at once whether the legs and the tail will survive the print.

Photo

How to photograph your pet
  1. The whole body with the legs and the tail, nothing cut off by the edge of the photo.
  2. From the side or from a three-quarter angle, at the animal's height, not from above.
  3. A calm pose: sitting or standing. Running or jumping, the legs come out thin.
  4. A plain background and even light. Photograph a dark animal on a light ground.
  5. One animal, no person. A hand holding it would become part of the figurine. A leash and a collar do not matter.

Long fur prints as a smooth shape. Whiskers and single hairs do not survive a print.

JPG, PNG or WebP up to 12 MB. A big photo from a phone is made smaller before it is sent.

Photos from more sides

More photos give a better result. Add a photo of the other side and of the back, the figurine then matches the build of the body better. It is not required. The cartoon figurine is made of the main photo only.

The same distance and light as in the main photo, the animal in the same pose.

Base

Base

The oval base follows the paws, the round one is steadier, the plinth is taller and has the name on its side. Without a base the figurine stands on its own paws.

The name is raised on the base as part of the model. Leave it empty if you do not want one. The sides are those of the view From the front in the preview. Should the name end up elsewhere than you want, you change it afterwards without a new generation.

The photo goes only to the supplier Tripo, which builds the model of it, and we delete it as soon as the figurine is made. For a cartoon figurine we delete the redrawn picture too. Only those with the link see the figurine; for visitors without an account we delete it after 30 days.

Free: 3 model a day without an account, 8 with one. The model takes 2 to 4 minutes.

A pet figurine from a photo

The tool turns a photo of a dog, a cat or another animal into a 3D figurine to print. There are three styles: the realistic one keeps the proportions and the fur, the tabletop miniature has its legs, tail and ears thickened as if modelled in clay, the cartoon one has a big head and rounded shapes. The figurine always stands on a base, and the base can carry the name.

With animals it is the thin legs and the tail that break off a print most often. So we measure the finished figurine and tell you how thick its thinnest place is. Under 2.5 mm we suggest another style or a bigger size. A figurine usually takes 1 to 3 minutes. You order the print from us, or download the model for your own printer for free. We delete the photo as soon as the figurine is made.

Before you order

How long do printing and delivery take?

The model takes 2 to 4 minutes, printing one to three hours depending on the size. We dispatch on the day the print ends, on working days, and Packeta usually delivers within 1 to 2 working days in the Czech Republic.

What is the figure printed from, and in what colour?

In one colour of PLA or PLA+. The fur and the details are in the shape, not in the colour; matte shades show them best.

What if I do not like the model?

You look at the model in 3D first. Within the daily limit (3 without an account, 8 with one) you can try another photo or another style; the base changes without a new generation.

Can I download the model and print it myself?

Yes, as an STL or a project for your printer. The check in the calculation warns about thin legs, ears or tails that would print badly.

How do I get the print?

We send it with Packeta to a pickup point or an address in the EU (in the Czech Republic from €4.00). Once we hand the parcel over you get an e-mail with a tracking link.

Who it is for

A gift for dog and cat people

An 80 to 100 mm figure with the pet’s name on the base, for a shelf or next to the bowl.

In memory

From a favourite photo of a pet who is no longer with you. One sharp photo of the whole animal from the side or the front is enough.

For the car or the desk

A smaller figure around 60 mm that fits next to a monitor or on the dashboard.

How it works

  1. Upload a photo of your pet. One animal, the whole body with the legs and the tail, from the side or at an angle, a calm pose and a plain background. Photos of the other side and of the back are optional.
  2. Pick a style. Realistic, a tabletop miniature, or a cartoon. For the miniature you choose how much material to add.
  3. Choose the size and the base. The size goes from 30 to 250 mm. The base is oval, round, or a taller plinth with a name. The name is optional.
  4. Make the figurine. Tick the consent and press "Make the figurine". It takes 1 to 3 minutes; meanwhile you can leave and come back by the link in the address bar.
  5. Check it and order the print. Turn the figurine and see its thinnest place. The base and the name can be changed without a new generation. Then order the print, or download the model.

Common questions

Which photo works best?

The whole animal from the side or at a three-quarter angle, taken at its own height, calm, sitting or standing, in front of a plain background. There should be no person in the photo: a hand holding the animal would become part of the figurine. A leash and a collar do not matter.

How long does it take?

Usually 1 to 3 minutes, a cartoon figurine about a minute longer. You can close the page and come back by the link that appears in the address bar once it has started.

What does it cost?

Making a figurine is free within the daily limit: one a day without an account, three with one. You pay only for a print, and you see its price beforehand. The model can be downloaded for free.

How big can the figurine be?

From 30 to 250 mm in its longest dimension, base included. A smaller figurine has thinner legs and a thinner tail, so for small sizes we recommend the miniature or the cartoon style.

What if the legs or the tail are thin?

The page shows how many millimetres the thinnest place has. Under 2.5 mm it breaks easily in print. The tabletop miniature, which thickens the legs, the tail and the ears, helps; so does the cartoon style or a bigger size.

What happens to my photo?

The photo goes only to our supplier of model generation (Tripo) and we delete it as soon as the figurine is made. For a cartoon figurine we delete the redrawn picture too. Only those with the link see the figurine.
