Subaru EJ Low Mess Oil Filter Funnel

Too loose of a press fit and the funnel just slips on the filter flats. Too tight and the material at the flats begins to crack. Background This is a no mess oil filter funnel to be using during normal maintenance oil changes on the Subaru EJ series motor. I was tired of getting covered in oil when removing the oil filter on my STI due to it being the vertical orientation. Print Settings • 0.2mm layer height • 100% Infill Operation Instructions • First break the oil filter loose. You may be able to slip the funnel over to gain more leverage but really if the oil filter was hand tight during the last change, it should break free without a significant amount of force. • Push funnel up onto the oil filter and loosen until oil begins to drain. Ensure a container to catch the excess oil is placed under the funnel exit. The design is to "press-fit" over the oil filter so it will stay in place while the excess oil drains. • Once the oil has stopped draining, completely unscrew the oil filter and remove. • Clean excess oil off funnel and thread into oil fill tube to use as a funnel when filling with new oil. • Enjoy no mess!
