Popis

Filament Cutter - 45 Degrees This filament cutter cuts filament with a diameter of 1.75 mm at a 45 degree angle. The 3D model of the cutter was created with Fusion 360. Printing time is less than 50 minutes and assembly takes 1-2 minutes. The following materials are needed to assemble the (original) M2.5 version: • 2x M2.5 cylinder head screws (length: approx. 5 mm) • 2x M2.5 hexagon nuts • 2x M2.5 washer (outer diameter: 5-6 mm) • Snap blade (blade width: 9 mm, 3 parts/segments) For the assembly of the M3 version with nuts, the following materials are needed: • 2x M3 cylinder head screws (length: approx. 4 mm) • 2x M3 hexagon nuts • Snap blade (blade width: 9 mm, 3 parts/segments) For the assembly of the M3 version without nuts, the following materials are needed: • 2x M3 cylinder head screws (length: approx. 4 mm) • Snap blade (blade width: 9 mm, 3 parts/segments) The assembly and use of the filament cutter (M2.5 version) are shown in the following video:   My Print Settings • Printer: Prusa MINI (0.4 mm nozzle) • Rafts: No • Supports: Yes • Resolution: 0.2 mm • Infill: 20 % • Filament brand: Prusament • Filament color: Galaxy Silver • Filament material: PLA   Tips • If you print the filament cutter with supports (see 3mf or gcode file), then the supports (in the cutting slot) can be loosened and removed very well and easily with the cutting blade when assembled. • For left-handers, a mirrored version would probably be a bit more advantageous. A mirroring of the 3mf or stl file (along the x axis) can be realized very easily in the slicer (PrusaSlicer).   Updates • 2021-11-05: The filament cutter had a small "blemish". However, already downloaded 3D models are not affected in their functionality. The blemish has been fixed. • 2022-01-07: Since some people have already printed the filament cutter (thanks for that) and used as screws what they just have available (mostly M3 instead of M2.5 screws), I decided to create another version of the filament cutter: With the new version, you can now use 2 M3 cylinder head screws. In addition, neither nuts nor washers are needed for this. The screw length (thread length) is now about 4 mm. The new files have the suffix "M3 without nuts" in their name. • 2022-05-14: Added another version which is assembled with 2 M3 cylinder head screws and 2 M3 nuts. The screw length (thread length) is about 4 mm. The new files have the suffix "M3" in their name.
